Apple has expanded its Mac lineup in India with new versions of the Mac mini and Mac Studio, bringing more powerful processors and upgraded performance for demanding workloads.

The new Mac mini is available with M6 and M5 Pro options, while the Mac Studio gets M5 Max and the flagship M5 Ultra. Apple is positioning these machines toward users working on AI, video production, software development, gaming and other professional workloads.

The M5 Ultra version sits at the top of the range and is aimed primarily at professionals who need substantial computing power.

M6 Chip Brings a Major Performance Boost

Apple says the new M6 chip delivers significant improvements compared with the previous-generation Mac mini.

The company claims AI performance can be up to four times faster, while graphics performance can reach up to twice the previous generation. Storage performance is also claimed to be up to twice as fast, while CPU performance can improve by up to 40%.

The M6 is also described as Apple's first 2nm chip and features a 12-core CPU, 12-core GPU and 16-core Neural Engine. It supports up to 170GB/s of unified memory bandwidth.

Mac mini Designed for Heavy Workloads

The new Mac mini can be configured with up to 32GB of unified memory and 1TB of storage with the M6, while M5 Pro configurations can support up to 64GB of memory.

Apple is targeting the compact desktop at users working on AI development, video editing, game development, programming and other demanding applications.

Connectivity includes Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6, along with 2.5Gb Ethernet and an optional 10Gb Ethernet connection.

The M6 version includes three Thunderbolt 4 ports, while M5 Pro configurations move to three Thunderbolt 5 ports. The machines also include USB-C, HDMI, Ethernet and a headphone jack.

Mac Studio Gets Even More Powerful

The Mac Studio is designed for users who need considerably more performance than the Mac mini can provide.

The M5 Max configuration comes with an 18-core CPU and up to a 40-core GPU, along with support for up to 128GB of unified memory and up to 614GB/s of memory bandwidth.

The flagship M5 Ultra pushes those numbers even further. It features a 36-core CPU, up to an 80-core GPU and up to 1.2TB/s of unified memory bandwidth.

Apple says the M5 Ultra also introduces its quad-die architecture to Apple Silicon.

Built for AI and Professional Creators

Apple is highlighting AI workloads as one of the major use cases for the new Mac Studio. According to the company's claims, the latest model can deliver up to 4.3 times faster AI performance, twice the storage performance, 1.8 times faster graphics and 1.3 times faster CPU performance compared with the previous generation.

These machines are aimed at professionals working with large AI models, high-resolution video, software development, 3D workloads and other computationally demanding projects.
