Anupam Kher Gets Emotional After Wrapping First Schedule of ‘Shri Ram Janmabhoomi’, Says ‘A Part of Me Remains in Ayodhya’

Veteran Bollywood actor Anupam Kher has completed the first shooting schedule of his upcoming film ‘Shri Ram Janmabhoomi’ and shared an emotional note expressing his deep connection with Ayodhya.
The actor announced the completion of the schedule through a social media post, sharing pictures from his time in the holy city. In his heartfelt message, Kher expressed gratitude towards Ayodhya and its people, saying that the experience of working on the film left a lasting impact on him.
The film features Anupam Kher, Ritwik Bhowmik and Amruta Khanvilkar in important roles. Kher will portray the late Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) leader Ashok Singhal in the movie.
‘A Part of Me Has Stayed Behind in Ayodhya’
After completing the first phase of shooting, Anupam Kher wrote that although he was returning from Ayodhya, he felt as if a part of him was still connected to the city.
He shared that the journey gave him not just memorable experiences but also a deeper understanding of spirituality, culture and the significance of being part of a film based on history and faith.
Kher described Ayodhya as more than just a city, calling it an emotion where every corner reflects devotion and cultural heritage. He also mentioned his visit to the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple, the warmth of local residents and the spiritual atmosphere of the city as experiences that enriched him personally and professionally.

In his post, Anupam Kher expressed gratitude to the people of Ayodhya, saints who blessed him, and his friends who supported him during the shoot. He also thanked director Kamakhya Narayan Singh, cinematographer Aseem Bajaj and the entire film team for making the experience special.
He ended his message by thanking Ayodhya and expressing his hope of returning to the city again.
When Will ‘Shri Ram Janmabhoomi’ Release?
Directed by Kamakhya Narayan Singh, Shri Ram Janmabhoomi is based on the Ayodhya Ram Temple and the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi movement.
The film is currently under production, and the makers have not announced an official release date yet. However, reports suggest that the movie may arrive in theatres in 2027. Fans will have to wait for further updates as shooting progresses.
