What is the no dual connection rule?

Piped Natural Gas (PNG) has been supplied in many major cities and societies across the country in the past few years. PNG is considered safer, cheaper, and more convenient than LPG. Many households have PNG connections. However, such customers have not surrendered their old LPG cylinders. According to government rules, it is illegal to have two separate domestic gas connections at the same address. Therefore, companies have launched a search campaign for such customers. Customers who have not yet surrendered their LPG cylinders or deposited them with the agency will have their LPG connections disconnected from June. They will not receive LPG gas service.

How to surrender the cylinder?

If you have both PNG and LPG gas in your home, then to avoid heavy fines, first go to the gas agency. Go to Indane, Bharat Gas or HP Gas agency. There you will get the connection surrender application. Fill that application and request to surrender the gas cylinder connection. Along with this, you will have to surrender your gas cylinder and regulator. After that, the company will give you a no objection certificate for surrendering the cylinder tank. The security amount deposited while purchasing the LPG cylinder. Will be deposited directly in the customer's bank account. After that, the customer can use the PNG service without any interruption.

Will the price of LPG cylinders increase again?

Following the increase in petrol and diesel prices, it is being speculated that LPG cylinder prices will rise again. However, there has been no indication or official information from the government yet. In March 2026, the price of LPG gas cylinders was increased by ₹60. This price increase comes after several days. Now, gas cylinders are available for ₹1,000.
