“An Actor’s Son Will Become an Actor…” Yash’s Honest Take on Nepotism and the Pressure of Stardom

South superstar Yash is gearing up for the release of Toxic, and the actor has been busy interacting with the media and discussing everything from his journey in the film industry to stardom and nepotism.

During a recent conversation, Yash was asked about actors such as Allu Arjun, Chiranjeevi and Thalapathy Vijay, who come from established film families. While discussing whether star kids have an advantage in the industry, Yash gave a balanced perspective and acknowledged that their journeys also come with their own challenges.

“An Actor’s Son Will Become an Actor”

Speaking about nepotism, Yash said that there is nothing wrong with an actor's son choosing to become an actor. According to him, having a film background can provide an initial advantage, but the audience ultimately decides who succeeds.

Yash explained that outsiders may face difficulties finding their first opportunity, while star kids may get that first step more easily. However, once someone enters the industry, they still have to prove themselves.

He also pointed out that star kids enter the industry carrying the expectations and legacy of their fathers, which can itself become a burden.

“For Us, It Takes Time to Find the First Step”

Yash said that people without a film background often have to struggle to get their first opportunity. Once that opportunity arrives, however, the rest depends on the individual.

Interestingly, Yash admitted that his own journey was not entirely a solo effort. He said that although he had to find his first step, many people eventually helped him climb the ladder.

This, according to Yash, is an important part of the industry that is often overlooked when people discuss success.

Yash Refuses to Compare Himself With Other South Stars

Yash was also asked why actors such as Ram Charan, Allu Arjun, Jr NTR and Mahesh Babu, despite coming from established film families, are perceived differently when it comes to pan-India stardom.

Yash rejected the idea of comparing their achievements. He said that all of these actors are doing extremely well in their respective fields and that terms such as “pan-India star” and “superstar” are ultimately just labels attached to an actor's work and its impact.

For Yash, the real measure of success is not who is ahead or behind, but the ability to continue working and remain connected with audiences.

“One Friday You’re a Star, the Next Friday You’re Nothing”

Yash also gave a blunt take on the temporary nature of stardom.

He said that there is nothing permanent about being a star. An actor can be celebrated one Friday and find himself struggling the next. Therefore, simply achieving success once is not enough.

According to Yash, every actor has to keep working hard and proving themselves. The spotlight keeps moving from one person to another, and the real challenge is to survive for years and remain in the hearts of audiences.

For Yash, therefore, stardom is not about being ahead of someone else. It is about longevity, consistency and earning a place in the audience's hearts.
