Reality television has often thrived on controversy, but the latest allegations surrounding the show The 50 have escalated into a sensitive debate involving religion and community. Adnan Sheikh, known for his appearance in Bigg Boss OTT 3 and as a member of Team 07, has levelled serious accusations against Bhojpuri actor Vikrant Singh Rajput, husband of actress Monalisa.
Adnan claims that during the filming of The 50, Vikrant allegedly avoided sitting with Muslim contestants and displayed discriminatory behaviour based on community identity.
The Allegations
In a recent video statement, Adnan said he learned about the alleged remarks through fellow reality show participant Siddharth Bhardwaj. According to Adnan, Siddharth informed him that Vikrant had expressed reluctance to be seen associating with certain contestants due to concerns about how it might be perceived outside the show.
Adnan further stated that he had initially sensed discomfort in Vikrant’s behaviour but felt his doubts were confirmed after the conversation. He admitted that tensions escalated inside the house, leading to a heated confrontation during a subsequent task.
Claims of Edited Footage
Adnan has also alleged that significant portions of the dispute were removed during editing and not aired to viewers. He claimed that the incident led to a major uproar inside the house and that some contestants supported him during the confrontation.
Among those he mentioned were television personalities Urvashi Dholakia and Sapna Choudhary, who, according to Adnan, spoke in favour of fairness and unity during the dispute.
Karan Patel’s Reported Stand
The controversy has also drawn in actor Karan Patel. Adnan claimed that Karan had strongly objected to any discriminatory remarks and had assured him of strict action if such statements were confirmed. However, Adnan expressed disappointment that no visible disciplinary action followed.
Other Contestants Mentioned
Adnan pointed out that contestants such as Rajat Dalal and Lavekesh Kataria, who came from different communities, did not face any such barriers during the show. He stated that the group generally played and interacted without prejudice, describing the alleged behaviour as disheartening.
Awaiting an Official Response
As of now, neither Vikrant Singh Rajput nor Monalisa has issued an official statement addressing the claims. It also remains unclear whether the alleged comments referred specifically to religious identity or were interpreted differently in context.
