Bollywood star Akshay Kumar recently shared a humorous and candid story from his college days, leaving audiences amused. The actor, who is set for a busy year ahead with multiple film releases, opened up about his first crush during a recent episode of Sony TV’s game show Wheel of Fortune, which he currently hosts.
Akshay Kumar has several upcoming projects in the pipeline, including Welcome to the Jungle, Bhoot Bangla, Haiwaan, and Hera Pheri 3. Amid promotions and television appearances, the actor surprised viewers by narrating an incident from nearly four decades ago.
A College Crush and a Filmy Attempt
During the episode, a contestant named Adarsh recited a poem, sparking a discussion on how far one should go to win someone’s heart. This prompted Akshay to recall his own experience from his college years.
Sharing the story, Akshay said that around 40 years ago, he had a crush on a girl during his college days. In an attempt to impress her, he learned to sing and teamed up with a friend who played the guitar. The duo went outside the girl’s house and performed a song, hoping to win her attention.
The Unexpected Outcome
However, things did not go as planned. Akshay revealed that instead of appreciation, the performance angered the neighbours. “All the neighbours came out and beat us up,” he joked, adding that both he and his friend were thrashed. His punchline—“Hard work can sometimes lead to beatings”—sent the audience into laughter.
Personal Life
On the personal front, Akshay Kumar married Twinkle Khanna in 2001. The couple tied the knot on January 17 in a private ceremony attended by close friends and family. They are parents to two children—son Aarav and daughter Nitara.
The actor’s candid confession offered fans a rare glimpse into his pre-stardom days and showed that even Bollywood’s biggest stars have faced awkward—and sometimes painful—moments in love.
