A heart-wrenching tragedy struck when an Air India flight en route to London crashed shortly after taking off from Ahmedabad. Among the passengers was Khushboo Rajpurohit, a newlywed from Rajasthan's Balotara district, who was flying to meet her husband for the first time after marriage.
A Journey Filled With Hope, Cut Short by Disaster
Khushboo, a native of Araba village in Balotara, Rajasthan, had married Manphool Singh, an IT professional based in London, earlier this year in January. This was to be her first trip to join her husband after the wedding.
Earlier in the day, Khushboo’s father Madan Singh had accompanied her to Ahmedabad airport. Emotional yet proud, he had even posted a WhatsApp story blessing his daughter with the message, “Ashirwad beta.” Moments later, the family was shattered by the devastating news of the crash.
Khushboo's father and cousin had gone to see her off at the airport. The family, still clinging to hope, rushed back to Ahmedabad to gather more information about her condition. As of now, no official confirmation about her status has been provided, and her loved ones remain in deep distress.
11 Passengers from Rajasthan Were On Board
The ill-fated flight reportedly had 11 passengers from Rajasthan, including residents from Udaipur, Banswara, Balotara, and Bikaner.
In a shocking revelation, a family of five from Banswara was also aboard. The members included:
-
Prateek Joshi
-
Komi Vyas
-
Miraya Joshi
-
Pradyut Joshi
-
Another individual named Prateek Joshi (possibly another family member or namesake).
Udaipur Siblings Were Traveling for Leisure
According to Udaipur District Collector Namit Mehta, the flight also carried Shagun and Shubham Modi, children of Udaipur-based marble businessman Sanjeev Modi. Both siblings, who completed their MBA and were helping manage their father’s business, were traveling to London for vacation.
Upon hearing about the crash, Sanjeev Modi left immediately for Ahmedabad to get clarity on the situation.
Two Udaipur Youths Worked for an NRI Family
Additionally, two more passengers from a nearby Udaipur village were aboard. These young men reportedly worked as domestic cooks for a businessman from Ahmedabad who resides in London.
A young man from Bikaner was also among the passengers, adding to the number of people from Rajasthan affected by the tragedy.
Ongoing Investigation and Rescue Operations
Authorities have launched a full-scale rescue and investigation operation. The flight's manifest and passenger list are being verified, and efforts are underway to contact the families of all affected individuals.
As this tragic incident unfolds, families across Rajasthan and beyond are grappling with grief, hope, and unanswered questions.
For Khushboo and many others on that doomed flight, this was a journey filled with dreams — dreams now replaced by shock and sorrow. The entire nation watches and prays as updates continue to emerge.
