Due to bad weather or natural disasters, farmers across the country suffer huge losses, and when it comes to compensation, they have to make several rounds of offices.
But to address this problem for farmers, the government has introduced a new scheme, the Agricultural Inputs Subsidy Assistance Scheme, which will provide financial assistance to farmers to restart farming. The aim of this scheme is to help farmers who have suffered losses due to drought, hailstorms, or other natural disasters to replant their crops.
Let us know in which state farmers will get compensation and how they can get it.
Which farmers will get the benefit?
This scheme is available to farmers whose standing crops have been damaged by 33% or more due to a natural disaster. The government aims to ensure that only those farmers who have suffered substantial losses will benefit from this scheme.
How much compensation can be received?
The government will determine compensation based on SDRF regulations. Therefore, the compensation amount may vary for different farmers. The compensation amount is ₹8,500 per hectare for crops damaged by rain, ₹17,000 per hectare for irrigated crops, and ₹22,500 per hectare for perennial crops.
Where will farmers have to apply?
The best part of this scheme is that farmers don't need to register or apply separately anywhere. The affected farmers' details will be automatically uploaded to the relevant Patwari or DMIA portal.
Kharif crop data will be uploaded by March 31, and Rabi crop data by September 30. If a farmer is left out of this process, they can also report their losses through the Raj Girdawari app.
Which state made this announcement?
The Bhajanlal Sharma government of Rajasthan announced this scheme. Because farmers in Rajasthan are always dependent on the monsoon, bad weather can cause significant damage to their crops.
