According to the Gurud Purana, if the dead body is left alone, there is a fear of red ants or other insects coming near it. In such a situation, it is important that someone is nearby to guard the dead body.

One reason for not leaving the dead body alone is that it is believed that the soul of the dead person keeps wandering there. Who keeps watching his relatives. In such a situation, it is said that after the death of a person, the body becomes empty of soul. Due to which the shadow of an evil soul can take over that dead body.
