A violent clash between two girls over a young man in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, has sparked an uproar on social media. The incident reportedly occurred a few days ago on the Yashoda Nagar bypass, where one girl severely assaulted the other. A one-minute video of the altercation surfaced today, showing a woman dressed in white pulling the other girl's hair, dragging her across the street, and slapping her. A third woman recorded the incident. Police have launched an investigation after the video went viral.
According to reports, the two girls clashed over the same young man, Abhishek. The girl who was assaulting him is heard shouting in the video, "You abandoned Abhishek. Now that he's mine, why do you call him Babu? Will you? Tell me, will you call him Babu?"
The victim held her feet and begged for forgiveness, but the attacker continued to beat her. The video clearly shows the woman in white grabbing her hair and throwing her to the street, then slapping her 11 times. She then kicked and punched her in the chest and head. A third woman, who was filming, also kicked her.
The third girl also assaulted
At the beginning of the video, the girl who assaulted the victim tells her, "You were telling Abhishek that you've met me somewhere before. I met you at Sky Lawn." As the victim tried to respond, the attacker kicked her in the chest, causing her to fall onto the road. The victim screamed for help from passersby, but no one came forward. Bystanders remained spectators, further increasing the severity of the incident. It is reported that both of the assaulting girls are residents of the Barra area.
