Why is it important to update your email ID?
Email is used in many services these days, including banking, insurance, government schemes, and online verification. Linking the correct email ID to your Aadhaar helps ensure timely receipt of important updates and notifications. If your email ID is outdated or incorrect, you may have difficulty accessing certain important information.
How to update your email from Aadhaar app?
First, download UIDAI's official Aadhaar mobile app on your smartphone. Then, log in with your Aadhaar number and complete the available verification process. Next, select the option to Update Email or Update Related Aadhaar Details. Register a new email ID, verify the information, and submit the request. After submitting the request, you will receive a Service Request Number (SRN). This number will help you track the status of your update request.
Therefore, the free feature until December 31, 2026, may be necessary for citizens who haven't updated their email ID in Aadhaar or wish to change their old email. Before updating, it's best to check the latest instructions on the UIDAI's official app or website.
