Female constable Meenakshi Sharma's role has been found suspicious in the suicide case of Jalaun's Kuthaund police station in-charge Arun Kumar Rai. She has been arrested.

Vishal Verma, Jalaun: The suicide case of Arun Kumar Rai, the inspector in charge of Kuthaund police station in Jalaun, Uttar Pradesh, has become a mystery. Meenakshi Sharma, the female constable who ran screaming out of his room, has been arrested. Meenakshi's role in the case has been suspicious from the beginning. According to sources, the female constable and the inspector were very close, which led to his death. Police have registered a murder case based on the complaint of the inspector's wife, Maya Rai, and are investigating from every angle.

On the night of December 5th, Inspector Arun Kumar Rai shot himself in the temple with his service revolver. The bullet passed through his head. The pistol was found lying on his stomach. CCTV footage of the incident has emerged. In it, a female constable arrived at the inspector's residence at 9:15 pm and fled at 9:18 pm, screaming about a gunshot.

Even after the transfer, the interaction with the inspector continued.

According to sources, the female constable had been in contact with the inspector since 2024. During this time, the two began to grow close. In July 2024, while posted at the Konch police station, Meenakshi Sharma came into contact with Arun Kumar Rai. Rai was transferred from Konch to Orai. Even after this, Meenakshi continued to visit the inspector. When he was transferred to Kuthaund, Meenakshi continued to visit him there as well.

Was blackmailing the inspector

On Sunday, when Meenakshi Sharma was being taken into custody and taken to jail, she underwent a medical examination. The police asked her numerous questions, but she answered only a few correctly. According to police sources, Inspector Arun Kumar committed suicide after being fed up with the blackmailing of a female constable. It is being reported that Meenakshi Sharma was in a love affair with Inspector Arun.

Bought a necklace worth Rs 3 lakh

Before committing suicide on Saturday, the female constable had spoken to Inspector Arun over the phone. She was demanding something from him. The two had an argument over the phone. After this, Meenakshi Sharma reached Inspector Arun's police station. Upon seeing her, the inspector shot himself with his service revolver. Sources even say that the female constable had made some objectionable videos and was blackmailing the inspector, demanding 25 lakh rupees. She had recently stolen a necklace worth 3 lakh rupees.

Meenakshi used to use 3 phones including iPhone.

Although Meenakshi Sharma held the rank of constable in the UP Police, her lifestyle was very different from that of other police officers. Due to her reserved nature, she had very little interaction with her colleagues. Police recovered three mobile phones, including an iPhone, from Meenakshi. The police are examining the data on all these phones.

A case has been filed against the constable in Pilibhit

Meenakshi Sharma, a resident of Meerut district, was appointed as a constable in 2019. Her first posting that year was in Pilibhit. During this time, she filed a case against a constable, after which she was transferred to Jalaun.
