8th Pay Commission: This is how much salary will employees receive! From helpers to seniors, how much will their salaries increase?

There's currently a lot of discussion among government employees about the Eighth Pay Commission. In particular, demands are being made for basic salary, fitment factor, and dearness allowance. If these demands are accepted, everyone from helpers to senior positions will benefit.

Along with government employees, railway employees have also made important demands for a basic salary increase
. They have demanded an increase in their basic salary to ₹52,000. They also demanded an increase in the fitment factor to 4.38, an increase in the House Rent Allowance (HRA), and the implementation of the old pension scheme, as salary increases depend on the fitment factor.

Which employee will be the winner?

If these demands of railway employees are met, then the employees of the Eighth Pay Commission, i.e., junior engineers, senior section engineers, assistant managers, and other technical staff, could be in for a treat. This demand has also been made by the Indian Railway Technical Supervisors Association (IRTSA).

Who will have what fitment factor? The Indian Railway Technical Supervisors Association has stated that different sections will have different fitment factors. The fitment factor will be 2.92 for L-1 to L-5, 3.50 for L-6 to L-8, 3.80 for L-9 to L-12, 4.09 for L-12 to L-16, and 4.38 for L-17 to L-18.

Understand the salary math:
When the demands are met, your basic salary will be ₹52,000, and the maximum salary could reach ₹9.85 lakh. The Railway Employees Association has estimated that house rent (HRA) will increase by up to 40 percent. According to the association, the cost of living in major cities has increased significantly, necessitating an increase in house rent.
