There are numerous discussions going on among central employees and pensioners regarding the Eighth Pay Commission. Curiosity about their salaries has now increased. The Commission sought suggestions from employee and pensioner organizations to improve salaries, allowances, and working conditions. The deadline for submitting memorandums was extended to June 15, 2026. However, this deadline has now expired. Furthermore, no extension has been granted.
The Eighth Pay Commission had previously clarified that there would be no extension for submitting memorandums after June 15. Therefore, employees' and pensioners' organizations must submit their proposals on time.
Over the past few months, some organizations complained that technical difficulties prevented them from submitting their memorandum online. However, the memorandum submission process has now been completed, including all demands. The Commission will now move to the next phase.
Meanwhile, the schedule for the Eighth Pay Commission's meetings has also been finalized. An important meeting of the commission will be held in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, from June 22nd to 23rd. Officials from there will also visit other cities across the country. Meetings will be held near Bhubaneswar, Odisha, on July 6th and 7th, and near Kolkata, West Bengal, on July 9th and 10th.
Importantly, these meetings will gather information about central employees' expectations, salary increases, allowances, pensions, and working conditions. Following the implementation of the Eighth Pay Commission's recommendations, significant increases in salaries and allowances for central employees and pensioners are expected. Therefore, millions of employees and pensioners are now focused on the Commission's next decisions.
