Abhishek Bachchan, who started his acting career in 2000, has had a roller-coaster journey in Bollywood. His debut film didn’t make much impact at the box office, and several of his early films flopped. However, he tasted big success with Dhoom in 2004.

Now, after 11 years, Abhishek has got a special opportunity with the recently released multi-starrer Housefull 5, which hit theatres on June 6. Featuring a huge ensemble cast of 19 actors including Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Jacqueline Fernandez, and Sanjay Dutt, the film opened to an excellent response from audiences.

According to Sacnilk, Housefull 5 collected Rs 23 crore on its opening day, making it the third highest first-day opener in Abhishek Bachchan’s 25-year career, during which he has acted in 46 films. The last time he saw such a big opening was in 2014 with Happy New Year, another multi-starrer featuring Shahrukh Khan and Deepika Padukone, which earned Rs 44.97 crore on day one and became a superhit.

While Abhishek has many promising projects lined up, Housefull 5 marks an important milestone, reviving his box office fortunes after a long gap.
