Meta-owned instant messaging app WhatsApp is now working on a feature that you would say was long overdue. WhatsApp is set to release a major update to the Status feature, which may be problematic for some users but beneficial for others.

Tagging feature in WhatsApp status

WhatsApp is testing a new feature that will let you tag someone in your status. This will work in the same way as it is done on Instagram and Facebook. When you tag someone in your status they will get a notification.

In simple words, whoever you set the status for will have to see it anyway. This information about the new feature of WhatsApp has been given by Wabetainfo. Testing of the new feature is running on Android beta version 2.24.6.19 of WhatsApp. If you are a beta user, you can see and use this feature.

Additionally, WhatsApp is also working on another privacy feature where screenshots of profile photos will not be allowed after its release. WhatsApp is planning to implement a ban on this. The new feature is part of WhatsApp's privacy measures. It is being said that even after the update, you will be able to take a screenshot of someone's WhatsApp profile, but it will appear blank, meaning the photo will not be visible. Currently, this feature of WhatsApp is being tested on the beta version. The new feature was spotted on Android beta version 2.24.4.25 of WhatsApp.
