Recently Google has launched its new Google Wallet app in India. This app cannot be used for digital payment. But in this, you can store many things like tickets, rewards, and even digital car keys. It can be downloaded for free from the Play Store. Not all Android users can use this app. If your phone is old and its Android version is less than 9.0, then you will not be able to use the Google Wallet app on it.

According to the report of 9to5Google, Google has recently updated its support page, according to which now it is necessary to have an Android 9.0 or above version to run Google Wallet. Actually, Google no longer releases security updates for versions below Android 9.0. Only with the help of these updates, the phone is protected from hackers. Google writes on its support page "To keep Google Wallet secure, it is necessary for us to send security updates to your device. These updates are not available for versions below Android 9.0."

Google Wallet launched in India 

Google Wallet is a secure and private digital wallet. In this, you can keep everyday important things like movie tickets, flight tickets, and documents in one place. This app was first launched in America in 2022. Now after two years, this app has also come to India.

The app does not support the payment feature 

But, currently Google Wallet app in India does not support online payment features. According to Google, the Google Pay app is already available for payments in India and the same will be used for online payments. Google Wallet will support it.

Google made more than 20 partners 

Google has made more than 20 partners for Google Wallet in India. These include PVR & INOX, Air India, Indigo, Flipkart, Pine Labs, Kochi Metro, Abhibus, etc. Google Wallet users in India can store movie/event tickets, flight tickets, loyalty and gift cards, and important documents like luggage tags or parking receipts in this app. Additionally, company ID cards and train and movie ticket confirmation emails received in Gmail will also automatically appear in Google Wallet.
