Cyber ​​Fraud: A 32-year-old woman from Delhi became a victim of cyber fraud of Rs 23.5 lakh. The woman was duped by a fake investment website on social media, which promised to earn good profits in the stock market. According to the PTI report, the woman first invested a small amount and initially, she also got profit. After this, he invested more money. But, this time he was cheated. After losing Rs 23.5 lakh, the victim lodged a police complaint on April 10. After an investigation, the police found the accused. The accused was identified as 29-year-old Mohammad Dawood, a resident of the Maujpur area of ​​Delhi.

How was the victim implicated?

Actually, on social media, he came across a website that was promising to earn good profits by investing money in the stock market. He contacted me on the number given on the website. The accused convinced him to invest money in the stock market. First, the woman invested only Rs 1,000. In the first attempt, he made a profit of Rs 1,300. This built his confidence and he invested more money. But this time he did not get any response and his money also got stuck.

Police recovered Rs 8.55 lakh 

According to the report, a police investigation revealed that Rs 8.55 lakh has been recovered from the bank account of the accused. He had transferred the remaining money to other accounts. Police have recovered 17 SIM cards, 11 debit cards, 4 passbooks, 15 checkbooks, 2 stamps, and a phone from the accused.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (North-East) Joy Tirkey says, "During the investigation, it was found that the money was deposited in 11 different bank accounts." He further said, "The team traced the accused to the Maujpur area and arrested him after conducting a raid." Has been done. He also has an associate who used to help in trapping people, he will also be arrested soon."
