IPL 2022 mega auction: No room for Suresh Raina as CSK may retain these players along with MS Dhoni!

The preparations for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 mega auction are already underway and the old franchise will name its four retained players till November 30, 2021. The two new teams will have to finalize their 3 players out of the auction between December 1, 2021, and December 30, 2021. Retained players cannot include more than 2 Indians and 1 foreigner.

According to a member of the IPL Governing Council, the mega auction will take place in January. Captain MS Dhoni will definitely be CSK's first choice ahead of the IPL 2022 auction and it is expected that the franchise will retain him.

However, apart from him, these are the three other players that CSK will keep behind - Ruturaj Gaikwad, Ravindra Jadeja, and Faf du Plessis. With these players in form, it seems that CSK's 'Chinna Thala' will not get a place. There are speculations about the future of veteran Suresh Raina.

Players Who Can Be Retained:

Ruturaj Gaikwad: The right-handed opener grabbed everyone's attention as he became the star of the CSK franchise in the 2021 edition. The 24-year-old was the top scorer for CSK in the 2021 edition with 635 runs in 16 matches.

Ravindra Jadeja: Who wouldn't want this all-rounder to be in their team. Proven to be a match-winner on several occasions, Ravindra Jadeja performs well on the field with both batting and bowling.

Faf du Plessis: This experienced South African batsman has brought a lot of experience to the team. So he can also be retained in the team.
