Meta-owned social media app Instagram has launched a new and important feature. Users can now edit their Instagram messages, although there is a time limit for editing. Meta has said that this new feature will save users from typing mistakes.

After the latest update on Instagram, messages sent in Direct Messages (DM) can be edited for up to 15 minutes. If you don't edit a message within 15 minutes, you won't be able to make any further changes. Before the arrival of this feature, the only option was to delete messages containing typing errors or sent by mistake.

How to edit sent messages on Instagram?

Make sure your Instagram app is updated before using this feature.

Press and hold the message you want to edit for a while.

After this, you will see the option to edit.

Click on it and proceed to edit the message.

It's worth noting that the ability to edit messages is already available on other social media platforms like WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger.
