PAN Card Online:  If your name is wrong on the PAN card, it can cause you a lot of trouble. When many people get a PAN card, there is a mistake in their name even without wanting to. If this has happened with your PAN card too, then today we are going to tell you how to fix it, that too sitting at home.

Follow these steps to apply online:

Go to the website of the Income Tax Department https://www.incometaxindia.gov.in/.

Click on the “PAN Card Services” tab.

Click on “Change/Correction in PAN Card”.

Select “Change or Correction in Existing PAN Data” from the “Application Type” option.

Enter your PAN number and click on “Submit”.

Now you will see a new page. Here you have to fill in the necessary information to make corrections to your PAN card.

Upload the scanned copy of your Aadhar Card or other valid documents as “Proof of ID” and “Proof of Address”.

Pay the “Application Fee”.

Click "Submit"

Follow these steps to apply offline:

Download the application form for change/correction in PAN card from the Income Tax Department website.

Fill out the application form correctly and attach copies of all required documents.

Pay the “Application Fee”.

Submit the application form to your nearest Income Tax Department office.

Online Application: Rs 85 (including 12.36 per cent service tax)

Offline Application: Rs 110 (including 12.36 per cent service tax)

Process to make name correction in PAN card

Once you submit your application, the Income Tax Department will scrutinize your application. If your application is accepted, you will receive a receipt for a new PAN card. The new PAN card will be sent to your address within 15 to 30 days of your application.
