If there is no fan in the air conditioner, then how does the AC throw cold air? Know here

There is a refrigerant (a special type of gas or liquid) inside the AC which helps in producing cold air. The refrigerant is brought under pressure in the compressor of the AC, which increases its temperature.

The job of the air conditioner is to throw cold air, but a fan is also required for this, but there is no fan in the air conditioner. Then how does the air conditioner throw cold air, you must be wondering about it now.

Let us tell you that the indoor unit of the air conditioner does not have a fan to throw air, but a blower is given to throw air in it, which works to cool the room by throwing cold air with the help of a cooling coil.

Cooling cycle of air conditioner

There is a refrigerant (a special type of gas or liquid) inside the AC which helps in producing cold air. The refrigerant is brought under pressure in the compressor of the AC, which increases its temperature.

This hot gas is then sent to the condenser coils (outer unit), where the fan blows the air out of the condenser coils, causing the gas to cool and turn into liquid.

Evaporator coils of AC

This cool liquid refrigerant goes to the evaporator coils (inner unit). Here, the fan passes the hot air of the room over the evaporator coils. The hot air cools down in contact with the refrigerant and returns to the room as cool air.

This is how AC cools the room.

This process continues continuously as long as the AC is on and the room temperature reaches the set level. Thus, the fan plays an important role in the AC which cools the air and throws it into the room. Without a blower, the AC cannot cool and throw air. At the same time, there is a fan inside to cool the compressor of the AC which throws hot air out of the AC. This is the reason why you feel hot air quickly behind the AC.
