Elon Musk's Tesla company may soon make a grand entry in India. Before Tesla's entry, everyone wants to know the answer to the question of how much will Tesla's cheapest car cost in the Indian market? According to reports, Tesla company is planning to import cars manufactured in Germany to India, it seems that the import duty has been reduced to clear the way for Tesla.

According to the CLSA report, even after reducing the import duty to less than 20 percent in India, the cheapest car Tesla company will be very expensive. If the report is to be believed, the cheapest model of Tesla can also be launched between 35 lakhs (ex-showroom) to 40 lakhs (ex-showroom). According to media reports, Tesla company can launch its cheapest model for customers at Rs 21 lakh, but after tax the price of this car can go up to Rs 35 lakh.

Tesla Cars: Why is the price increasing?

In the US, Tesla's cheapest car, the Tesla Model 3, costs USD 35,000 (approximately Rs 30.32 lakh) at factory level. In India, after the reduction in import duty, the on-road price of this car can be USD 40,000 (approximately Rs 35 to 40 lakh) after adding expenses like road tax and insurance.

Auto companies will not be affected

If the price of Tesla Model 3 is 20 to 50 percent higher than electric vehicles like Hyundai Creta Electric, Mahindra XEV 9e and Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara, then it will not have any significant impact on the Indian EV market.
