Now you can apply for a passport sitting at home. You can easily apply for this in a short time. E-Passport Service has been started for making government passports. This information has been given by Sanjay Bhattacharya, Secretary of, Ministry of External Affairs, through a tweet.

The E-passport is very secure
After the introduction of the e-passport service, the problem of passport lost, burnt, torn, etc. will be freed. Along with this, your personal information will also be more secure now. Presently passport is issued in India only in booklet form. The government will be secure with biometric data through e-passport and is engaged in meeting the immigration needs globally. It is believed that this step will help in curbing the incidents of forgery. This passport will also comply with the rules of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).

This will be an e-passport
Let us inform you that the trial of this new scheme has been started by the government. In this way, such e-passports have been issued to about 20,000 officials and diplomats. This e-passport will have an electronic microprocessor chip. For this work, the Ministry of External Affairs has agreed with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS). It comes under the Passport Seva Program.
