How does Apple prevent fraud in the App Store?

Apple says that it has formed a special team that monitors and investigates any suspicious fraudulent activities. This team stops unscrupulous people making apps using new technology even before they reach the App Store. This makes it safe for the people using the App Store.

This team has 500 employees from all over the world who test 1,32,500 apps every week. In 2023 alone, his team has tested about 6 lakh apps. Both humans and technology are used to test these apps. With this, Apple has been able to stop millions of such apps that want to harm the users.

Apple closed accounts of fake developers 

Due to these efforts, Apple has been successful in stopping fraudulent transactions worth about Rs 15 thousand crore in 2023. Besides, it has also closed the accounts of crores of such developers who were making fake apps. Apart from this, Apple has also removed about 15 crore app ratings and reviews on the App Store because these could be related to fraud or these apps were created by illegal developers.

Apple is not the only company that is working against fake apps and payments. Google has also made efforts to stop such fake loan apps which have caused a lot of trouble in countries like India in the last few years. Questions keep being raised about the security of Google's Play Protect because many dangerous apps can be seen on the Play Store, but Google is also trying to make Android more secure.
