After the recent cut, the price of domestic LPG cylinders can now go up to Rs 800 after booking.

This announcement comes as another step by the government to provide relief to the citizens. Earlier, in August 2023, the government had reduced the prices of LPG cylinders by Rs 200.

The timing of these measures is being seen as a series of gifts from the central government just ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Earlier, it was announced to extend the subsidy under the Ujjwala scheme by one more year.
