Vande Bharat Express: Howrah-New Jalpaiguri train will run from January 1, know the route, timings, fare, concessions

22301/22302 Howrah-New Jalpaiguri Vande Bharat Express will operate commercially from 1st January 2023. The first semi-high-speed railway in West Bengal will operate six days a week, every day but Wednesday.

The 600-mile route would take 7.5 hours to complete when the train was in commercial service.

Passengers traveling to New Jalpaiguri can now make reservations using the internet and Passenger Reservation System (PRS). However, concessional booking is not allowed on this train. There is a tatkal quota in this semi-fast train.

"Booking of 22301 Howrah - New Jalpaiguri Express will be made available through PRS and internet from 30th December 2022 onwards," Indian Railways said in a statement.

The new Vande Bharat Express from Howrah to New Jalpaiguri is expected to bring down the travel time by three hours, as compared to the existing trains on the route. According to officials, there are 14 trains on this route. All of them cover a distance of 564 km in an average of 10:45 hours.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today virtually flagged off the blue and white colored train. The PM also inaugurated the long-awaited Joka-Taratla section of the Purple Line of the Kolkata Metro.

Major train attractions: Howrah to New Jalpaiguri Vande Bharat Express- Each chair vehicle will have 78 seats divided into two rows, with specially made tables being the main draw.

During its journey, Vande Bharat Express will stop at three stations: Bolpur (Shantiniketan), Malda Town, Barsoi
