The Income Tax Department has tweeted a warning to those who have not linked their Aadhaar card with their Permanent Account Number (PAN). The department has tweeted that those who will not link their Aadhar card with their PAN card will have to deal with inoperative PAN. Failure to complete the process before April 1, 2023, will result in the deactivation of their PAN card.

Most PAN card users have already linked their Aadhaar with their PAN. Their PAN cards will become inactive on April 1. On January 17, the Income Tax Department warned people about this by tweeting.

He said that under the Income Tax Act 1961, it is mandatory for common people to link their Aadhaar with their PAN card.

PAN cards are central to all major financial transactions. You cannot do any work related to income tax with a PAN card.

If you do not link your Aadhaar and PAN card, you will not be able to file your income tax return. If you do not link your PAN, you will not be able to buy mutual funds, stocks, and bank accounts.

To link your PAN card, you need to open the e-filing website of the Income Tax Department. The address of the card is incometax.gov.in/. You can go to the Link Aadhaar option, fill in your details, and captcha code, and easily link your Aadhaar card with your PAN card.
