Learner Driving License

Permanent Driving License

Therefore, before the expiry of the Learner's Driving License, one should apply for the Permanent Driving License. After passing the driving test, the RTO issues a permanent driving license.

Commercial driving license

This driving license is issued to drive a commercial vehicle. There are three categories of commercial driving license – Heavy Motor Vehicle, Medium Motor Vehicle, and Light Goods Transport Motor Vehicle. The eligibility for obtaining a commercial driving license is slightly different. However, the process to apply for it is similar to that of a Permanent Driving License.

International driving permit

As its name suggests, this permit is issued to Indian citizens to drive abroad. The RTO prints this permit in multiple languages ​​to make it easier for the authorities in the country you are visiting to check your driving ability. To get this permit, it is necessary to have a permanent driving license. The validity of this permit is one year.
