Yusuf Pathan will now play political innings after cricket, and will contest Lok Sabha elections from this seat!

Former Indian star all-rounder Yusuf Pathan has now entered the country's politics. He will contest the upcoming Lok Sabha elections on behalf of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's party Trinamool Congress (TMC). Trinamool Congress has made this former stormy batsman its candidate for the Baharampur Lok Sabha seat.

Veteran Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary has been contesting elections from this seat. According to reports, TMC has released the list of candidates for all 42 Lok Sabha seats of West Bengal for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections to be held this year. Two former cricketers of the country, Yusuf Pathan and Kirti Azad have also been included in this list. The party has given a ticket to Kirti Azad from Bardhaman Durgapur seat.

Yusuf Pathan, who was a part of the Indian team that won the T20 World Cup in 2007 and the ODI World Cup in 2011, will now challenge Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Choudhary from Baharampur Lok Sabha seat.
