WPL 2025: This player is the Dhoni of women's cricket, was once a football captain, and now she will rock RCB

IPL 2025 will start from 21st March. Before this, the Women's Premier League (WPL 2025) is going to start. Its third season is starting on 14th February. Just before this, there have been one important change in two out of five teams. Parunika Sisodia has been included in place of injured Mumbai Indians player Pooja Vastrakar. While Royal Challengers Bangalore has given a chance to Nuzhat Parveen in place of injured Asha Shobhana. Nuzhat is going to play in WPL for the first time. Before this, let us tell you about her journey which is very similar to that of former Team India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
Was the captain of the football team, then took up the bat
Nuzhat Parveen was born on 5 September 1996 in Singrauli, Madhya Pradesh. 28-year-old Nuzhat had no connection with cricket since childhood. Like Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Nuzhat loved football earlier and she has also been the captain of Madhya Pradesh's Under 16 football team. Like Dhoni, she also belongs to a small town. Nuzhat turned to cricket at the age of 15. Like Dhoni, she also did wicketkeeping apart from holding the bat. The story of her coming into cricket is very interesting.
Actually, once a cricket tournament was going on in Singrauli. Nuzhat had told in her interview that a cricketer was being searched for that tournament, then her teacher suggested Nuzhat's name to the selectors. Nuzhat not only got a chance in it but she also managed to win the 'Player of the Series'. After this, she never looked back.
Nuzhat plays for Railways
Mahendra Singh Dhoni used to work in the railways before making a career in cricket. He was a ticket collector. Nuzhat also belongs to the railways. Nuzhat plays as a wicketkeeper batsman for the railways.
Played 5 T20Is for India
Nuzhat Parveen has also played 5 T20Is for Team India. Nuzhat was also a part of Team India in the Women's World Cup in 2017. Now she is going to play in the Women's Premier League. RCB has added Nuzhat to their team at a base price of Rs 30 lakh.
