India's star opener Shubman Gill displayed his old form by scoring his 11th ODI half-century during the match against Sri Lanka in Mumbai on Thursday. The talented batsman scored a brilliant 92 runs before getting out. It is noteworthy that Gill, a resident of Punjab, was suffering from dengue just before the World Cup 2023, due to which he could not play in the first two matches against Australia and Afghanistan.

Gill continued his exceptional performance during the match against Sri Lanka and dominated the Sri Lankan bowlers with his powerful shots. Fans were thrilled to see Gill's brilliant batting performance, even though he missed out on a century. Interestingly, Sachin Tendulkar's daughter Sara was seen giving a standing ovation to Gill. His heart-touching gesture caught the attention of social media users, leading to a flood of comments.

After recovering from dengue, Gill made a winning comeback in the game against Pakistan. However, his performance with the bat did not live up to expectations. In the four matches following his return, he could score only 104 runs at an average of 26.00.

Earlier, the Indian team suffered a big blow when their captain Rohit Sharma was out after scoring just four runs. After this, Gill partnered with former Indian captain Virat Kohli and together they made a tremendous partnership of 60 runs during the first powerplay.

Gill's determination and skill were evident as he brought up his half-century in just 55 balls, showcasing his skills with eight powerful fours.
