India's cricket sensation, Virat Kohli scored his 48th ODI century, taking him very close to legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar's record. Kohli scored a century in the match against Bangladesh at the MCA Stadium in Pune, taking him close to Tendulkar's 49 ODI centuries. Kohli's extraordinary innings while chasing India's target of 257 runs against Bangladesh was brilliant. He completed his century in just 97 balls and scored 103 runs, which included six fours and four sixes.

This remarkable performance has made Kohli the fourth-highest run scorer in international cricket.

He is now behind only Sachin Tendulkar (34,357 runs), Kumar Sangakkara (28,016 runs) and Ricky Ponting (27,483 runs) in the list, who have a total of 26,026 runs in international cricket.

Notably, this century is Kohli's first century in the ODI World Cup since the 2015 edition. His recent form has been excellent with two fifties in the last three matches of the tournament. Additionally, Kohli became the fourth-highest run-scorer in the history of the ODI World Cup, surpassing Brian Lara and Rohit Sharma. He is now behind Sachin Tendulkar (2278 runs), Ricky Ponting (1743 runs), and Kumar Sangakkara (1531 runs).
