Before the Kanpur Test match to be played between Team India and Bangladesh, Bangladesh's legendary all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan made a big announcement in the press conference. He decided to quit T20 International cricket with immediate effect and expressed his desire to retire from Test cricket at the end of the home series against South Africa in Mirpur next month to the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). Now a big statement has come from Bangladesh Cricket Board President Farooq Ahmed on this.

Shakib Al Hasan will be able to play the series against South Africa only if he gets security in Bangladesh. Otherwise, the Kanpur Test match will be the last match of his Test career. In such a situation, after a four-hour board meeting at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium on September 26, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) President Farooq Ahmed gave a big statement on this issue in a press conference.

Bangladesh Cricket Board president Farooq Ahmed said, 'Shakib's security is not in our hands. Security should come from the government and it has to take its own decision. We cannot say anything about his security. We do not have the capacity to provide security to any individual. I am neither any agency nor the police or Rapid Action Battalion (RAB). The security issue should be approved by the government because we cannot say anything to the board.

Advised to play the last match in India

Farooq Ahmed further said, 'Shakib is going through a difficult time personally, so we cannot say much from our side. Like him, I also feel that if he is able to play his last Test from here, then nothing can be better than this, but the higher authorities need to be assured about his safety. He is going through a difficult time. He felt that this was the right time for him to play his last Test and we have respected his decision.'

After this statement by Farooq Ahmed, it is believed that it is difficult for Shakib to play in Bangladesh. In such a situation, the Kanpur Test could be his last match in this format. However, there is a threat of rain in this match as well. In such a situation, it is difficult to say whether he will get a full chance on the field for all five days or not.
