Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are going through the worst phase of their career. In the year 2024, both disappointed the fans with their batting. Both of them did not perform well in the Border Gavaskar Trophy as well. Meanwhile, such news has come which has increased the tension of the fans. According to media reports, Rohit and Virat will not play the domestic ODI series against England in February 2025. Both the players will be given rest. But if this happens, then this decision can prove to be costly for Team India. The ICC Champions Trophy is also in February and that too will be played in ODI format. In such a situation, if these two giants of Team India enter the Champions Trophy without any preparation, then India may have to face trouble.

There will be no chance to prepare

Rohit and Virat will play in the last Test match of the current series to be played in Sydney between 3 and 7 January. After this, Team India will play a five-match T20 series at home against England. Let us tell you that Rohit and Virat have retired from T20 International last year. After the T20 series, a 3-match ODI series will be played between England and India in February just before the Champions Trophy. This will be the only series to prepare for this tournament. In such a situation, both could have played but they decided to rest. Now this should not create problems for the Indian team in the future.

Last ODI was played in August 2024

Let us tell you that the Indian team has played only three ODIs in the year 2024. On the Sri Lanka tour, the Indian team did not win a single match out of the three ODIs. The first ODI was a tie and Sri Lanka won the series by winning the next two ODIs. The last match of the series was played on 7 August 2024. In which Rohit scored 35 and Virat scored 20 runs. Since then Team India has not played any ODI match. In such a situation, now if Rohit Virat will directly enter the Champions Trophy without preparations, then they may have to face difficulties and it will also affect the performance of Team India.
