Mahendra Singh Dhoni's childhood friend Paramjeet believes that the Chennai Super Kings captain will extend his career in the Indian Premier League beyond 2024.

Despite being repeatedly asked about his future in the IPL, Dhoni has chosen to keep his plans under wraps.

In a recent interview with OneCricket, Paramjeet, who played a key role in Dhoni's entry into international cricket, shared insights on the cricketer's future prospects.

He said, "I don't think this will be his (Dhoni's) last season. He is still fit. I think he'll play one or two more seasons.

Paramjit Singh said, "He will definitely play another season. The reason is that he is fit."

Dhoni, along with Rohit Sharma, is one of the two IPL captains to have lifted the trophy 5 times with one franchise. The 42-year-old's record is impressive, he has played 250 games since the first season and scored 5082 runs at an average of over 38 with 24 half-centuries.

This season, Dhoni will display the logo of Paramjeet's Sports Shop on his bat during the IPL. Earlier, he was seen with Prime Sports stickers on his bat during practice for IPL 2024 in Ranchi.

Currently, Dhoni is in Jamnagar with his wife Sakshi to attend the pre-wedding functions of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant. The event will be attended by many celebrities from India and across the world.

Soon, Dhoni will return to Chennai to join the CSK camp before the IPL 2024 begins with the first match against Royal Challengers Bangalore on March 22 at Chepauk.
