separated by mutual consent
Talking to Idea Exchange, Iyer further said that we talked right after winning the IPL. But gradually the conversation started to stop and then the conversation stopped for a few months. According to Iyer, no efforts were being made by the franchise regarding his retention and he was surprised by this. Iyer said that if you get to know things just a week before the retention date, then it clearly means that something is missing. Iyer further revealed, 'Due to the lack of conversation, we stood on the verge that we decided to separate by mutual consent'.
In the IPL 2025 auction, Shreyas Iyer was bought by Punjab Kings for a whopping amount of Rs 26.75 crore. Iyer proved to be the second most expensive player in IPL history. Shreyas will now be seen leading Punjab. Recently, Punjab Kings had approved his name for captaincy.
