Despite losing the tournament, India remained at the top position in the points table. The World Cup campaign for Kohli has been remarkable in many ways.
With his batting ability, the 35-year-old broke the long-standing record of the great Sachin Tendulkar for scoring most ODI centuries (49). He now holds the coveted record with 50 ODI centuries.
Additionally, he also finished the ICC event as the leading run scorer with 765 runs, which included three centuries and six fifties. As a result of this exceptional performance, Kohli was named 'Player of the Tournament' in the ICC Men's World Cup 2023.
