Virat Kohli played an inning of 76 runs in the first Test match against South Africa that ended on Thursday. With the help of this inning, Virat Kohli completed his two thousand runs in international cricket this year. Along with this, Virat Kohli has registered a world record in his name which was never made by any batsman in the 146 years of cricket history.

Virat Kohli has scored a total of 2048 runs this year. With this, he has become the first batsman in the world to have scored 2000 or more runs in seven calendar years. Earlier, no cricket legend including former great Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar and West Indies' Brian Lara had been able to achieve such an achievement.
