Due to this inning, Virat Kohli was also selected as the player of the match. While receiving this award, Virat Kohli has registered a world record in his name. Virat Kohli won this award for the 10th time in Test cricket. With this, he has become the first cricketer in the world to win the Player of the Match award 10 or more times in all three formats of cricket.

Virat Kohli has so far received this award ten times in Test cricket, 38 times in ODIs, and 15 times in T20s. Virat Kohli has scored 75 centuries in international cricket. More than him Sachin Tendulkar has scored maximum of 100 centuries.
