On the basis of brilliant innings of captain Uday Saharan (81) and Sachin Das (96), the Indian Under-19 cricket team defeated South Africa by two wickets in the semi-finals on Tuesday and made it to the finals. Team India has made it to the final of the Under-19 World Cup for the fifth consecutive time.

Captain Uday Saharan and Sachin Das, the heroes of the Indian team's victory, played an important role in helping their team win by making a partnership of 171 runs for the fifth wicket. The Saharan-Das pair has now made the world record for the highest partnership for the fifth wicket in youth cricket.

The pair of Uday Saharan and Sachin Das has broken the world record of the Bangladesh pair in this matter. Bangladesh's Tauhid Hday and Shamim Hossain had earlier created a world record by making a partnership of 161 runs for the fifth wicket. Before the pair of Uday Saharan and Sachin Das, the record of India's highest partnership for the fifth wicket was held by Sarfaraz Khan and Ricky Bhui. Both had made a partnership of 159 runs.
