Travis Head fell from the sky to the ground, and became a victim of a golden duck after scoring a half-century in 17 balls
Every day is not the same on the cricket field. One match proves to be great for a player and the next match becomes a nightmare for him. Something similar has happened with Australia's explosive batsman Travis Head. After playing an explosive innings in the first match of the T20 series against Scotland, Travis Head became a victim of a 'golden duck' in the second match itself. Batting first in the second match being played in Edinburgh, the Australian team lost Head's wicket in the second over itself. Head had led the team to victory by playing an explosive innings of 80 runs in the last match.
On Friday, August 6, the Australian team came out to bat first in the second match of the T20 series. Young opener Jake Fraser McGurk, who failed to open his account in the last match, finally scored his first run in the second match of his career. McGurk hit a four on the very first ball of the second match. He also hit a four in the second over and then Travis Head came on strike on the fourth ball.
The world's number one ranked T20 batsman created a stir in the first match and the Australian team and its fans were expecting a similar performance. Travis Head, who came to bat for the first time in the second over, was bowled by fast bowler Brad Curry. In this way, Travis Head was out (golden duck) on the very first ball without opening his account. In the last match, Head played a brilliant innings of 80 runs in just 25 balls, which included 12 fours and 5 sixes. In that match, he scored a half-century in just 17 balls.
Apart from Head, the other opener Jake Fraser could not do anything special in this match as well. In his debut match, he could not even open his account but in the second match, despite a fast start, he could not play a big innings. He was saved from getting out on the last ball of the third over when the fielder could not reach the catch but he gave his wicket on the second ball of the next over. This wicket was also taken by Brad Curry. Jake Fraser scored only 16 runs in 16 balls in this innings.
