According to the speculations being made at the moment, every franchise can retain 5 players, out of which 3 will be Indian and 2 overseas. All these teams have at least one bowler whom they would like to retain. This is because those bowlers have been a big strength of their team in the previous seasons.

The one bowler that Mumbai Indians can retain is Jasprit Bumrah. Bumrah is a match winner and has been a part of the Mumbai franchise since 2013. So far, he has played 133 matches for this team on the IPL pitch, in which he has taken 165 wickets.
Chennai Super Kings can retain Mathisha Pathirana who has the bowling action of Lasith Malinga. Pathirana has been a part of CSK since 2022 and has taken 35 wickets in 20 matches played for this team.
The first bowler that Royal Challengers Bangalore can think of retaining could be Mohammad Siraj. Like Virat Kohli, Siraj is also a core member of this franchise.
Punjab Kings may consider retaining Arshdeep Singh. Arshdeep has been associated with this franchise since 2019 and has taken 76 wickets in 65 matches, out of which he has taken the maximum 19 wickets in IPL 2024.
Sunrisers Hyderabad team can think about retaining Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Bhuvi has been a part of SRH for a long time. He has also been handling the responsibility of vice-captaincy and captaincy of this team. He has taken 181 wickets on the IPL pitch so far.
