As 2023 comes to an end and the new year (2024) is soon upon us, Google India has revealed the most trending celebrities in the country. As per the latest update, Bollywood star actress Kiara Advani is the most trending personality, followed by her husband Sidharth Malhotra at number six. Apart from Indian actors who have gained huge popularity, there are also some cricketers who are trending massively on Google India. No. 1 ODI batsman Shubman Gill is the second most searched personality in India.
Gill came into the limelight this year due to his exceptional batting in the IPL and recently in the ODI World Cup 2023. However, their popularity is not limited to India only, but in neighbouring countries as well. In Pakistan, the No. 1 ODI batsman is currently the most trending Indian cricketer at No. 8. 2023 World Cup winner Glenn Maxwell is also among the top trending celebrities of Pakistan. He is ranked seventh ahead of Gill, while Hareem Shah tops the list with the most searched personality in Pakistan.
Interestingly, Indian-origin New Zealand cricketer Rachin Ravindra has also made it to the list of most trending celebrities in India. The 24-year-old star batsman is in the third position, followed by Indian bowler Mohammed Shami in the fourth position. Maxwell (7th) and Travis Head (10th), who led Australia to the glory of World Cup 2023, are also the most searched people in India.
Meanwhile, the Indian cricket team is in South Africa for the Test, ODI and T20 series. The tour started with the T20I series with the first match scheduled for tomorrow (10 December 2023) but the match was abandoned due to rain. The second match of the series will be played tomorrow (December 12) at St. George Park Cricket Ground at 8:30 PM IST.
