A new player has entered Royal Challengers Bangalore for WPL 2025. This new player has a total experience of 78 international matches and her name is Charlie Dean, this 24-year-old player has replaced Sophie Molyneux in RCB. Sophie has had to be out of the Women's Premier League 2025 due to a knee injury. Charlie Dean's specialty is that she is a spin bowling all-rounder.
Charlie Dean's passion for cricket grew by watching his father. His father also taught him the first lesson of cricket. His father Steven has played cricket for Warwickshire and Staffordshire. Charlie Dean took 5 wickets while making his debut for his school team in 2017. A year later, he captained Hampshire's Under 15 team and won the Royal London County Cup.
Charlie Dean joins WPL, and replaces Sophie
Charlie Dean had the ability to play cricket since childhood. That ability soon turned to international cricket. In 2021, she made her debut for England in ODIs, while in 2022 in Tests and T20s. Now she is a regular member of the England team. Charlie Dean will now be seen playing in the WPL for the first time. She is associated with the team which is also the defending champion of the league.
Charlie Dean has experience in 36 international T20 matches. She has taken 46 wickets in these 36 matches. Talking about the league experience, till now she has played only in England's Women's Hundred League. She has 18 wickets in her name in 30 matches played in The Hundred. It is expected that this experience of Charlie Dean will now be useful for Smriti Mandhana in WPL 2025 and will help in defending the title.
