The first is the stop-clock rule. According to this rule, the bowling team has to start the second over within 1 minute of the completion of one over. If this does not happen, a penalty of 5 runs will be imposed. That is, if the rule is broken, the score of the batting team will increase by 5 runs. However, the umpire will warn the fielding team twice about this. Action will be taken for violating the rules for the third time. This rule will be seen for the first time on the cricket field.

The ICC is strict about the timing of matches in the T20 World Cup. The ICC has set a time limit of 3 hours and 10 minutes to complete the entire match. If this does not happen then the bowling team will have to suffer. If the time is violated then the captain has to call the fielder inside the circle. The ICC has set a time of 1 hour 25 minutes to end the innings. The gap between the innings break will be 20 minutes instead of 10 minutes.

The ICC has also changed the rules of a reserve day. For the first time in the T20 World Cup 2024, there is no reserve day in the second semi-final. A reserve day has been kept for the first semi-final match, while if it rains in the second semi-final, then an additional time of 4 hours and 10 minutes will be given, after which the match will be completed.
Superover is seen when the match is tied, but there was a rule of boundary count when the superover is tied. This rule was in controversy in the World Cup 2019. This rule has been removed since then. Now super overs will be seen in the World Cup till the result is declared.
