T20 World Cup 2022 will start from this date, check the complete schedule


The ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2021 did not turn out as expected for the Indians. Apart from this, the country was also the host of this tournament. However, the team would definitely like to make a comeback in the 2022 edition to be held in Australia.

The preparations for the new edition have already started and seven cities will host the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia, which has now been confirmed.

A total of 45 matches will be played in Adelaide, Brisbane, Geelong, Hobart, Melbourne, Perth, and Sydney in this tournament to be held from 16 October to 13 November next year.

According to the ICC, the final of the T20 World Cup 2022 will be held on November 13, 2022, at the MCG. Talking about the semi-finals, it will be played on 9 and 10 December at Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) and Adelaide Oval respectively.

Eight teams in the tournament - Afghanistan, Bangladesh, England, India, Pakistan, and South Africa - along with champions Australia and runners-up New Zealand - will be part of the Super 12 stage.

Namibia, Scotland, Sri Lanka, and West Indies will play in Round 1 and the remaining four spots will be filled through the ongoing qualification pathway in the two global qualifying tournaments. One in Oman in February and the other in Zimbabwe in June/July.

Chris Tetley, Head of Events, said in an ICC release: "We look forward to revisiting ICC events in Australia and are pleased to announce the seven host cities for the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2022.
