Born in South Africa, Bernadine Bezuidenhout made her debut for South Africa in 2014. However, she then moved to New Zealand and made her debut for the White Ferns in 2018. She is one of the 9 women cricketers who have represented two countries. She has played 4 ODIs, 7 T20 matches for South Africa and 16 ODIs, 22 T20 matches for New Zealand.

New Zealand Cricket quoted Bernadine Bezuidenhout as saying that it has been a wonderful journey. Playing for the White Ferns has been a great honor for me. Here I have the fondest memories of my life. This journey has taught me a lot and I will always be grateful to all those who have been with me on this path.

Star cricketer suddenly announced his retirement

Apart from cricket, Bernadine Bezuidenhout has also earned a lot of names in non-profit and social work. She founded the EPIC Sports Project Charitable Trust, which aims to use sports to inspire hope and belonging in young people in high-deprived communities and break down barriers to sports participation.

The decision was not easy 

Bernadine Bezuidenhout said that her charitable trust also played a big role in her decision to retire. She said, I am satisfied with this decision, but it was not an easy decision to take. For some time now, I have struggled to balance my work and sports career and after a lot of thinking, I feel that this is the right time to focus my full attention on the EPIC Sports project.

Bernadine Bezuidenhout receives honor 

Women's team head coach Ben Sawyer thanked Bernadine Bezuidenhout for her dedicated service. Sawyer said I would like to thank Bernadine Bezuidenhout for her contribution to the White Ferns on the field. We are proud of the work Bernadine Bezuidenhout is doing outside of cricket and I have no doubt that she will continue to make a good impact on the lives of many people.
