The Champions Trophy was nothing less than a nightmare for the Pakistan team. Despite being the host, they were knocked out in the first round and after that, for the New Zealand T20 series, the PCB gave a chance to some players whose selection is creating a ruckus. On this issue, opening batsman Ahmed Shahzad has attacked the PCB. He said that only relatives get a chance in the Pakistan cricket team. He made serious allegations against the PCB by giving the example of Sachin's son and Rahul Dravid's son. Let us tell you what Shahzad said.

Nepotism runs in the veins of Pakistan

Ahmed Shahzad said, "You will have to end nepotism. Nepotism is in the veins of Pakistan. Until you do not do nepotism, do not select players on the basis of merit, until you do not end the recommendation culture, your cricket will not rise." Shahzad further said, "You tell me that in India, Sachin's son does not play, Rahul Dravid's son does not play, he is not given a chance to play in Team India. Laxman's son does not play and then if you look in Pakistan, you will find so many such examples that in top cricket, some relative is someone's uncle, someone is a paternal uncle, someone is a father, someone is something else. Whatever selection happens should be on merit."

Pakistan cricket's funeral procession

Ahmed Shahzad further said, 'How long will you continue this friendship, factionalism and if you continue like this then you have ruined Pakistan cricket. You have done the rest by selecting the team for the New Zealand T20 series.' After losing the Champions Trophy, the Pakistan cricket team has dropped many big players from its T20 team. Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan are not in the T20 team. Salman Aga has been given the command of the team. Leg spinner Shadab Khan has returned to the team and has also been made the vice-captain.
