RR, IPL Auction 2025: Jofra Archer returns to Rajasthan, got this much money
Rajasthan Royals have also opened their account in the mega auction. Rajasthan, which entered the auction after retaining 6 players, bought its first player late. Rajasthan first bought Jofra Archer in the IPL auction. Archer was bought by Rajasthan at a huge price of 12.50 crores. Archer has returned to the Rajasthan team after 2021. Rajasthan has also bought spinner Mahish Teekshna. This spinner has got Rs 4 crore, 40 lakh. Leg spinner Wanindu Hasaranga was sold by the team for 5 crore, 25 lakhs. Akash Madhwal was bought by Rajasthan for 1.20 crores.
How much money does Rajasthan have?
This time BCCI had given the option of 6 retentions or Right to Match to all the franchises and Rajasthan had prepared the foundation of its team by retaining 6 players even before the auction. Out of these 6 players, only Shimron Hetmyer was retained as a foreign player, while medium pacer Sandeep Sharma, who has been out of Team India for a long time, was retained as an uncapped player under the new rule. Overall, Rajasthan used up the maximum budget of Rs 79 crore for its 6 retentions. After this, the franchise entered the auction with a purse of only Rs 41 crore, in which it had to buy 19 players.
